Reflection - For this project, it was super easy and I found the program that we used to be super easy and really reliable in the terms that all of the tools worked well and properly and I did not really experience any difficulties in that sense. I feel like the most challenging part to the entire "slideshow" was ensuring that all of the pictures were not entirely cropped therefore you could see the entire photo! I couldn't really figure out how to do it until Skyler helped me otherwise the entire project was smooth sailing. Next time, I would add more photos like my angle pictures and all of that but other than that, I feel like my video turned out really well! The tools I used for this were just to add the title page and the transitioning tools. I could use this program and the tools I used to make projects and slide shows, etc.

Re-Contextualization and Gaze Position

 

 

Reflection - For this assignment, everything worked pretty well. I enjoyed trying to find/edit pictures in order to make this work. It was pretty difficult to come up with ideas to actually make the project out of but otherwise, it was fairly easy in a way. I don't know if I would do anything differently next time or even if I would ever do this project again. Unless if it were for a project in college, then I might do something similar. I used the most common tools that I generally do like the quick select tool and I also used tools like the paint brush tool and the copy and paste tools. I don't know any other ways to use this type of project other than if it were for a campaign on not to do something, etc. I think it would be funny to do stuff like this for billboards, etc.
The first picture is for a Pacsun ad which is a clothing store and I changed it to be for a pacman picture.
The second picture is for the store American Eagle and I changed it to say "American Pigeon" featuring a pigeon.
The last picture is the album to Rihanna's cover "Loud" which is changed to her featuring duct tape covering her mouth and the words "Silent" in for the word "Loud".

Photoshop Effect

Question - Should images of models that have been Photoshopped be labeled? Why or why not?

I truthfully believe that images of models should be labeled if they have been Photoshopped or edited in some way. I believe this because images that display women that have unrealistically perfect bodies give the audience unrealistic expectations of what they themselves should look like. For example, the Dove commercials show various women of different shapes, sizes, and skin colors in their campaigns and I love them because it is what actual women look like. I believe that both men and women should strive to love their bodies and what they have been blessed with. Therefore, Photoshopped images should be labeled to show what has and has not been changed.


Question - If steroids are illegal for athletes, should Photoshop be illegal for models? 

Photoshop should entirely be illegal for models. If an individual has been blessed with the perfect body and facial features, there would be no need for Photoshop in any way. Or, it should be a required law that photographers should have to post both the edited and the original images on their websites, etc. As someone that consistently looks at magazines, I look at pictures of Photoshop women and ponder upon my own body with my own insecurities. I feel like it would be refreshing for audiences to get a real down to Earth perspective on the images that they look at daily.

Models & Direction

 

Assignment One - This picture features four children who are spelling out the word "slay". Although the girl in green is technically an S, we accidentally forgot to tell her that the S was actually backwards. Meanwhile, the gentlemen with the floral shirt is an L, the gentlemen in blue is an A, and the fellow on the end in plaid is a Y.

 

 

 

Assignment Two - These are the individual pictures for assignment two that my group did. The first photograph features Skyler as the model, Caitlyn as the Clay, and I was the director/photographer. The second photograph features Caitlin who was the model, myself as the clay, and Skyler was the director/photographer. Within the third paragraph, I am the model, Skyler is the clay, and Caitlin is the director/photographer.

 

Reflection - I feel as though the entire project was fairly easy and it was actually really fun because we got to play a game, so it naturally gave us a lot of laughs. The thing that was most challenging was finding individuals to participate in our word for assignment one and figuring out the appropriate word to use. Another thing that was challenging was finding ways to mold the "clay" during the game that we played in assignment two. Next time, I would try to be a little bit more creative with my word choice and make sure that all the letters are properly spelled out, etc. The only tools that I used in Photoshop were the brightness controls just to change up the pictures. I think it would be cool to spell out like "Class of 2015" with people in my class for cool pictures that can be potentially used in things like senior reflections.

Reflection - I enjoyed this project because it was simple, fast, and I did not really experience any frustrations - just took my pictures, edited them, and uploaded them! It was a breeze. What worked well was the adjustment settings because we have continuously reviewing how to do it in class therefore it was not something that I had difficulty remembering.

I feel like the most challenging shot was the middle section for some reason. I can not really explain it, I just had a hard time taking the photograph. If I could do something differently, I would bring in different objects that I feel would work better therefore my pictures and props would not really be last minute. I really did not use any tools besides the image editors like the brightness, etc. and I also used the crop tools to crop out the excess. I could use this in the future to take pictures similar to this style for a project.

Reflection - I found this project to be somewhat easy to accomplish compared to other projects just because it did not really introduce new tools and all of that. I already the tools that I had to use to accomplish what I wanted to. I found it really easy to make the changes to the picture just because I love doing puzzles like this in magazines, especially making changes that were extremely obvious. The things that I found challenging were when I was trying to take something out and have the background match exactly what it would look like. I was not really sure what tool to use if it was the clone stamp or what.

I do not think I would do anything differently - pretty pleased with how my project turned out.

I mostly used tools like the painting tool to show my answers or if I had to like touch up an area that I had changed or took something out. I used the clone stamp to add things into the pictures like windows or to cover up an area with the similar textures that were in the picture and I also used the quick selection tool to pick certain things out of other pictures, copy them, and add them into my street scene picture.

I could use what I learned in the future to make my own Spot The Difference Pictures for other classes and projects, etc.

 

Writing Prompt -

Question : "Is this a well written article? Why or why not? Use examples from the article to support your claim. "

I believe that this article is not well written at all. I don't generally think that authors use phrases like "might explain". Quotes and sources were not really cited properly or at all.

After being in Advanced Placement English Classes, I just do not believe that this article is well written at all.
